The Conversation with Phillip Shirdan

Who is Phillip Shirdan?

Phillip Shirdan, is a man that Loves God. Living out this new life for God, loving, leading & serving everywhere He allows me.

How would your best friends describe you?

My best Friends would say I am loud, loving, sometimes outright ridiculous. Possibly addicted to coffee & exercise. But I’d say my friends would describe me most by my love for Jesus.

Describe your journey with Jesus and how he has impacted your life?

It’s been an amazing journey with Jesus when He saved me at my darkest times to now walking with me daily & allowing me to be filled with His love, grace, & peace. My life is brand new, I was blind & now see. Impact is an understatement, Jesus made me new & I live in a constant state of thanksgiving & gratitude:)

What does being light look like for you every day in your industry?

Being light in my work is giving a daily effort to be like Jesus everywhere I go. Engaging people, loving them no matter how unlovable someone may seem. Going the extra mile with someone, giving to those in need & seeing the good in someone even when they can’t even see it. I get to encourage & inspire athletes, fitness professionals and those in ministry as we train together, and illuminating their strengths when all they talk about is their weakness is a gift that God has given me & I love to use words & motivation to help lift their heads.

Describe a challenging time in your life and how did you overcome it?

From from spring 2010-summer 2011, I went through PTSD after a car accident. I was at my weakest & was heartbroken, I cried out to God & sought his Help. He overcomes my fears & my pain and lifted me up from the darkness and brought me to His marvelous light.

If you could give a message to your generation, what would you tell them?

If I could give a message to this generation; it would be to WAKE UP. We(including myself) get so caught up & distracted from this world. We are to be in the world not off it. So many things fight for our attention and our relationships with God seem to always take a back seat as social media, tv, games, entertainment seem to latch onto our hearts & cause us to love them more than we love God. This generation seems to talk a strong game but actions back up where our hearts are. And far too many of us are lovers of the world instead of Lovers of God. We need to shift our eyes, our attention to God & what He finished on the cross. He’s worth more than everything and He’s what we will have for eternity, I want to, the body of Christ needs to spend more time with God;)

When was the last time you laughed really hard?

Yesterday. I laugh almost every day. Was actually listening to a comedy station on pandora & it was Steve Harvey talking about church lol.
Life is too short not to enjoy it, to smile & make each day count. Love much, laugh a little & live to the fullest.
