How much do you think about God and you?
Pause for a minute and just think about that question. Do you think about God and you? Not anyone else. Just what God was thinking about, when he was thinking about you.
I have and still do. I’ve come to accept and believe these three truths about God that hold up for everyone, including you.
God made you.
There is no one else like you. Even “identical” twins are different to some degree. Before you were born, God knew you. Planned you. Made you. Whatever you think of God, he thought enough of you to create you in the womb.
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.
Psalm 139:13-16
God made you amazing.
If you think of all the things God has made, I mean everything in all of creation, there’s only ONE thing he calls his masterpiece. You!
Not just okay. Not just pretty good. Not just great. You are a masterpiece created by God. And you have a purpose, even if at times it doesn’t seem like you do.
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10
God loves you.
Hopefully you have friends, a lot of friends. Possibly some are extremely close. But you will never have anyone like God. Regardless of what life throws at you, you cannot lose with God on your side!
By the way, it’s a “I’ve got you for good so chill” guarantee that God backed up with the life of his Son. Try getting that anywhere else.
So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?
Romans 8:31-32
Regardless of who you are, what you’ve been through, where you live, believer or doubter, these three truths remain and cannot ever be changed.
Don’t buy the lies the world tells you. You are loved by the ONE who loves you more than anyone.
